John M Elmore

Department: Professional and Secondary Education

My name is John Elmore and I am begining my fourth year here at WCU. I think most people that have come to know me here have quickly recognized my deep appreciation for faculty rights and the role faculty play in shared governance. I was very active in the AAUP at my previous institution and held several leadership positions during my tenure there. I would appreciate the opporutnity to put my perspectives and experience to work for my colleagues here at West Chester by serving as a APSCUF representive.

Christine M. Fitzsimons

Department: English

As a State Delegate, I will forward the APSCUF mission and serve as a voice for the many active, committed adjunct faculty members in our union. Before joining WCU, I was elected to the Executive Committee for the Part-Time Lecturer Faculty Chapter of the AAUP-AFT in New Jersey. I hope to continue representing the needs of faculty members as we ready ourselves for future negotiations and legislative advocacy. Thanks for your time & support. ~CF

Richard Voss

Department: Undergraduate Social Work

I have served as our department delegate for two terms and have served on the Legislative Delegate Assembly as Alternate for one term and just completed one term as a Delegate at the Legislative Delegate Assembly with a one year extension. I have been elected and currently serve as Co-Accommodations Officer planning and scheduling the annual LDA meetings. I played an active role in the discussions related to the last Collective Bargaining Agreement, advocating for reasonableness and balance in the process. Among other accomplishments, I co-authored the new APSCUF Institute for Excellence which is looking at ways to publicize and support excellence in teaching, research, and service of/for APSCUF members. On a local level I am Chair of the Membership Committee. In this role I lead the initiative in implementing a Satisfaction Survey of WCU APSCUF membership, a model that was adopted by State APSCUF. I was assigned and organized the Strike Readiness Support and Resource Center for WCU APSCUF during the last negotiations process, providing information and support to APSCUF faculty. I firmly believe that APSCUF must be a more visible, accountable, and proactive force on campus, particularly between negotiations' years building our credibility with our consitutency, among peers, students, parents, and alumni. In solidarity, Rick Voss.
