Rules for the Election
Charles HardyDepartment: History Having served WCU APSCUF in a number of capacities for quite a few years, I have a bit of institutional memory that still might of use to the WCU delegation and faculty. Yoko Hashimoto-SinclairDepartment: Theatre and Dance I am in the APSCUF Election Committee. I want to go to the Delegates' meeting. Martin HelmkeDepartment: Geology and Astronomy I have served as my department's Local Delegate and as the APSCUF Representative on the University Safety Committee for the past two years. I would welcome the opportunity to serve WCU faculty as an APSCUF State Delegate and to communicate our needs to the state assembly. Seth KahnDepartment: English I'm running for a third term on the Statewide Legislative Assembly because: 1. I've developed connections with members of all the other delegations, which makes me a much more effective advocate for WCU and APSCUF statewide; 2. I've been working closely with a group of delegates from WCU and other campuses on significant reforms to statewide structures and practices, and I can be much more effective working with that group as a delegate than I could as a freelancer; 3. Along with Kevin Mahoney (KU) and Amy Walters (Slippery Rock), I'm hosting a workshop for new Legislative Assembly Delegates at the May Leadership Workshop; it would be strange to be an organizer/workshop leader at an event to which I have no connection besides history! 4. I enjoy doing it, having missed only 1 out of 14 assemblies since I got elected the first time. Rodney MaderDepartment: English I have served as an Alternate Delegate to the State Assembly a number of times over the past 5-6 years. I was involved in strike preparations over the summer, and I have paid attention to the important statewide discussion that came as a result of the negotiations. I am interested in doing my part to make our union the best that it can be. Chris StanglDepartment: Political Science I am currently an alternate delegate, but have attended both Assemblies so far this year (as a voting member) and will be attending the upcoming one in Grantville as well. Additionally, I've been active in my attendance at local meetings and am on the Local Delegate Assembly as well. I hope to continue to be involved in APSCUF and look forward to doing so in one capacity or another. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
