Department: Mathematics

Many years ago, I got involved in APSCUF through the Elections and Nominations Committee. Shortly afterwards, I ran for Corresponding Secretary and became part of the APSCUF Executive Committee. As Corresponding Secretary, I helped transition APSCUF from a paper ballot voting system to the electronic system we use now. I also became involved in other executive committee activities including the Meet and Discuss team, state legislative assembly, strike preparation, and grievances. Later I became Vice President and then President.

I'd like to continue in the position of Corresponding Secretary. I enjoy running the elections for APSCUF and serving as a member of the local Meet and Discuss team and the Executive Committee. I also enjoy working with the many new faculty that have become involved in APSCUF leadership.

APSCUF has a critical mission at this university and across the state system. The work that our leaders have done in recent years has not only helped faculty and students, but also protected our universities from the whims of legislators and administrators. The ongoing efforts by the PASSHE Chancellor to redesign the state system continue testing our resolve. His actions and comments, including the recent consolidations, are increasingly destructive. As a member of the APSCUF leadership, I will work to make our voices heard and protect our students and faculty. Thank you for your support.
