Gail G. Bollin

Department: Elementary Education

I believe that APSCUF has a major role to play in maintaining the quality of education in the State System. It is my belief that APSCUF can work with administration to meet our common goals of excellence without abandoning its vital role as an advocate for faculty. I would like to encourage broader participation in APSCUF leadership across the campus, and particularly among junior faculty.

I believe the faculty union acts a stabilizing influence in the shifting political environment surrounding a public university. I also feel the union plays an essential part in maintaining a quality faculty. For the past two years, I have served as chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee of APSCUF, and in that position, I have worked closely with the current APSCUF president to update the elections process. Beyond the regular duties of the office, my priorities as Corresponding Secretary of APSCUF will include increasing the involvement of newer faculty and learning the role of the executive committee. Thank you for your consideration.
